The reason some  well qualified people are having their offers rejected in this Seller's market is not because of price. Sellers want safety, security, some assurance.  So do Buyers.  The Offer to Purchase Agreement is a Standardized form full of consumer protection clauses for the Buyer's benefit. By knowing the contract you can make an informed decision of which protections you need, and which you can eliminate to appeal to the Seller's desire for assurance you will be there to the closing.

I've identified at least 14 areas of the Offer to Purchase Buyers can modify to customize their Offer to stand out from the other offers, even the ones for silly amounts of money.   On the other side of the table, home sellers are better protected from the trips, traps, and exit clauses of the Standardized Offer when their agent knows what to uncover and eliminate from offers to purchase.  Seller beware, that unusually high price might be the shining object the buyer is dangling to distract your attention from the exit clauses in the contract.
